The first bridge run attracted 80,000 participants.
The 21,097.5 m half marathon started at the mouth of the tunnel at Kastrup on the Danish side
and ended at Ribersborg in Limhamn, Malmö.

2000-07-01

The Öresund Bridge is inaugurated. The inauguration of the Öresund Bridge:
Queen Margrethe of Denmark and King Carl Gustaf of Sweden were among the speakers
at the opening ceremony at Lernacken at the abutment of the bridge outside Malmö.
Mile-long queues were waiting to cross when the bridge opened at 11 pm.
